Boston College - american universities

Boston College has about a little over 9,000 undergraduate students. It does have a graduate program, but their undergrad program is a perfect 9 to 10,000 student body count. To me, that's not too little. It's not too big. It's just the right size. For admission about 30 to 31% of the students are accepted here.

That's their general acceptance rate. Early action can run about the same and they accept a third of theirclass early action. So what programs are here at Boston College? Well, the business department is really big. I'm right across from Fulton hall, which houses the business department, and I asked admission,

Why is it so strong? Why are people coming here looking for Finance? And he said, it's simply the faculty here.

The faculty and the Dean have done a tremendous outreach into the community. So students here are getting great internship, great networking, and in business, it's all about networking, and Boston College is known for networking out in the business world and that's a win-win for the students here. The smallest school here at Boston College is the school of nursing. And the school of nursing has about 400 students that will graduate with a BSN. And what they have is seven clinical experiences upon graduation.

So when you go out into the world as a nurse, you will know that you have had hands on experience and will be very comfortable beginning from day one in your career.

When I spoke to admissions about the education department, what I found to be really, really powerful is that students graduating in education have three significant practicum experiences.

They have one year 2, one year 3, and in year 4, they spend a whole semester out into the schools in the local community. That is very different from most schools in education, where you only get practicum later on. Here, you're going to get three, and your first one is year 2 here. And that's a great thing for a teacher, you will know how to handle a classroom.

You'll know how to work in classroom control, which is really the most important thing that you need in education as a teacher. Within the education field, what I found is wonderful is you can do a BA/MA.

So you have a five year program. You apply senior year and you can complete your masters in one more year and that's a great opportunity. That will put you up on the pay scale for education and you'll have a real solid core backgrounds before you go out into the teaching world. So why do people choose Boston College? One of the big draws is the city of Boston.

In greater Boston there are over 50 colleges and universities. So the population is a very youth centric population. Wherever you go in Boston, there are students from Boston University, Tufts, MIT, Harvard, Boston College, Wheaton Clark, it is just incredible. So that is one of the main reasons why people love the Boston area.

Their schools are incredible. Just being in Boston is incredible. Here at American College Strategies, we take the stress out of the college application process. We know that you have lots of universities and colleges to choose from, and we know that this is the first time you're doing this and it can be very confusing. So reach out, I'd love to hear from you. I work with students all over the United States and all over the world, and I'd really like to hear from you.And welcome to Boston College.
